For many, oatmeal isn’t something you think of drinking but if you blend the oats finely in the blender before adding the ingredients, you won’t even think of them being there when drinking it. With all the added ingredients it becomes a rich, healthy and vegan smoothie. *That makes me sound like I’m one of the “in” crowd now– oh boy!* Anyway…

It took me awhile to be a smoothie groupie. I always thought they tasted like powder and had no flavor, and back in the day that was true. But once I got out my blender I got into making my own and discovered I can add whatever spices I wanted and now my thoughts have changed and now I feel like I am that cool chick who wears bell bottoms. So, I grabbed my blender this morning instead of having the usual oatmeal all warmed up and I made this to get on with the day instead. Change is groovy, eh?

Playing on any smoothie recipe is the ticket to getting the flavors you like. Dance around and grab some spices like cinnamon and extracts out of the cupboard to really boost the flavor. Adding more berries will sweeten it up and if you don’t like the calories the honey gives, don’t add it all. In fact, the fruit sweetens it up just fine.
I feel younger already…
Well, maybe not but I still like to dance.
From my kitchen,
Enjoy.

You like Almond Breeze too! I love the Vanilla version, so good. I don’t have a blender, but the idea of oatmeal mixed up with something until it’s smooth sounds delish!

Oh, get that blender! Yes! The vanilla is great to add cocoa to it. That way no added sugar and it is good !
