I found a stamp I made in high school out of linoleum. Mr. Rourke was my teacher. It really got me going in the art journal and the memories were a exploding in my mind while crafting with it tonight. It is an oak tree. Go figure 50 years later Sheckyville is full of them and the mix media journal looks better with it, if only for sentimental reasons. I'm a big supporter of art classes in school. For many, it is a life long learned skill and income. I wish there were more for the kids these days. The skills, arts, and crafts are so useful and valuable in life. I really loved my craft class working with lapidary and jewelry and things like this. It was my relief zone then and is my relief zone now. We need to bring back Home Ec, Crafts, auto shop, music and such. It does make a difference for many. The Pink Floodmingo seems to be the only floodality here in Sheckyville. All kidding aside, our neighbors didn't do so well. Even through their own troubles today they called to see if we were ok and came by with the tractor. We have some great neighbors indeed. Sandbagging last week in preparation worked. We've had a couple of good cells pass through and the Harley rain gear came out. I've never really walked in it, only ridden in it, it's noisy and I found my lipstick in the pocket. Walked the property and cross fingers we stay good. The rain has brought our riverbed to life. I love the sound of that. Anyways... 'Forget Me Not'. During the rain I had some time to design and upload to my new Etsy shop. I took some of my collection of ephemera and went to work on it. I think I like this one the best so far just because it's in the Renaissance feel which is my fave thing always. Many layers went into this and I still don't think I'm done. She's a luv'r yet to be posted on the LuvMeDu Shop. I'm not sure how I will present her there yet but here she is for you to peep at. I'll keep you posted on how she will end up. Another storm is expected so there will be butt flatting time again in front of the computer. 🥺😁🤪 https://www.instagram.com/reel/CnQK-GGpZND/ I took a garden walk with the camera this morn. Glad I did, now it's raining. Old cameras turned into lamps. This was a fun little discovery while at the local artist Etsy shop. Some very creative minds making very creative products. It still hurt a bit too see these cameras now lamps, but repurposed items that were going to be thrown away are now being used once again. So I'm not crying. 😭🥺 ... So, I not only learned how to share a screenshot *here*, Mrs. Sheckys Etsy shop is finally up. Go figure... There's 11 digitals up and I simply luv this addition from making my own junk journals to sharing my digitals and such on Etsy at really low paper prices😁. Fun fun fun! My Junk Journal Room gives me smiles. Since Mr. Murray left, I've gone full speed ahead into this. I used to scrapbook many years ago and kept the storage boxes full of my Card Shtooper business. Now it's all about the paper and material and using my photos for digitals. Yes, I do write in them and will be selling on my shop in Etsy. Desert Mountain Skies
