~Crafts-Junk Journaling~
Mrs. Shecky here. Since Mr. Murray left, I have gazed at the top of the stairs where the craft room was. I worked hard to get it up there but Mr. Murray was getting old so as soon as the craft room went in, most came down stairs because carrying his little self was getting too hard to do while holding on to the railing. So, for the sake of going up and down and falling, back down it came.

Now that Mr. Murray has crossed the Rainbow Bridge… the room went back up last week and I am back at crafting one of my favorite things… making journal books and junk journaling, not caring about the mess, and hiding out for the day.
Here is a little hand held journal for sharing that I am working on with lots of nooks and cranny’s for notes and such. For those that have not heard of Junk Journals they are simply handmade books to journal/write in made from this and that’s. They are basically made from hand dyed papers, antique papers and ephemera with tags, tucks and places to put notes and tidbits. I have always kept a journal for writing and this nifty craft is right up my aisle.

In the past I used to handcraft cards and sell them years ago under the name The Card Shtooper. When we moved I packed everything up. After Murray left, I sought out the storage unit and unpacked it all including cards made. It seems I have enough stuff to craft junk journals for two lifetimes. *hoarder*
I already have a couple larger journals on the way which I hope to add to my Etsy shop. This is the beginning of one with some signatures ready to go. I just have to decide how this textile cover should lay out.

I am quickly getting used to this space and will have fun posting more. I know we use our blogs to journal in, it is our process to write and share. Any junkers out there?
Til next time.

I have always found these types of papers and lace fascinating and your journals are beautiful. I still write in paper journals. We are rebuilding a room in our house that will become a workshop and a place for my work bench. I will finally be able to establish a place for holding things and a place to work on projects without having to juggle it around all the time!
Suzassippi, that’s the ticket right there. If I have to clean up all the time my mind goes crazy on where I put things for that project. I would love to see that room when it is done! How wonderful!
Your journals are so cool. You create Beautiful art Mrs. Shecky! I have a hoard of homeschooling stuff, books, games, beads, feathers, play doh, popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, stickers, pencils, pens, markers, card stock, paper… 😬
Those cube storage shelves do help a bit. 😉
Oh gee! You have a lot to go on then. I am glad I am not the only one who keeps things. Sometimes those essentials come in handy. My markers took to the Marker Fairyland in the recycle bin. I waited too long to use them… 🙂
You are very talented, Mrs. Shecky! Mr. Murray was such a cute dog. I am a minimalist so clutter and I don’t cut the mustard. 😂
Yes, there is definitely clutter with this hobby. Much 😊
I am a “junker,” but my junk is the piles of construction materials and leftovers from building projects that I did not have the heart to throw out! Let me know if you ever need any wires of almost any size, but not more than five feet long, or about 8 square feet of high-quality flooring or any shelving for your craft room. 😉
❤️&🙏, c.a.
I might take you up on that *heeheee*. Its hard to throw out things worthy of the next project. Luckily my out door project pile has gotten smaller. 😁
Beautiful! I have been wanting to try these.
Its so relaxing. I lose time and you can start with just papers and things around the house.
