~Settee Crazy~
Sheckyville is a little nutz for settees. They fit in those spots where they become useful to pull up a seat and put the tootsies up. It is hard for me not to love the old antique ones and very hard to pass up a bargain on these oldies but goodies.
I am a nut for thrift shops as most know here. The above settee came with two other chairs and I bought them at a local museum for a little craftsman house at one time. Very inexpensive because the museum has many donated and needed to get rid of it. When I say “inexpensive” I mean no more than Walmart or Target. This was one, in fact these all were bargains mainly because I don’t buy retail anymore if I can help it.
This settee was found in a consignment store years ago. What do I love about it: it is down. A bargain indeed. But what I want you to look at is the ottoman. That came in a set of two and was less that 4 burgers at a take out.
These are well used here at Sheckyville and I can truly say they don’t make furniture today like they did yesterday. So bargain up and Pull Up A Seat.

Reminds me of a cartoon I saw once where one construction worker says to another,
“Let’s take an extra hour at lunch today; after all, we don’t build ’em like we used to.” 😂

I love the one in the first picture! Beautiful! I agree – furniture is definitely not made like it used to be. That’s why we get most of ours from auctions held from old houses.
We do the same here. It is surprising even the smallest things at auctions and antique shops are still around after all these years.
