It really is this time of year. When the state was settled 200 years ago, it was nothing but forest and occasional swamps, that’s it. Much of the northern lower peninsula, and much more of the upper peninsula known as the Yooper, are still lush forests today. People love to take trips into the woods just to see the many beautiful colors deep in the woods. Childhood memories for me! I follow Michiganders here and on IG that live in the Mitten State that post lots of beautiful colors!
