~Tea Walks – 5~

It’s been a while since I posted a Tea Walk.  The construction of the house seems never-ending and having spent almost two months sick I had more catch up in the garden than usual.  To my own fault, I just enjoyed the walk and I didn’t do much but observe what work there still is to be done before Summer.

The trees are taking on a new look with the bark shredding here and there.  But the grass is still green and the rain yesterday helped with the weeds sprouting more.  *more work*

Murray was on the hunt for lizards.  We took a rest at the top of the hill.  The Moth on the water spicket had him going for a while.  I also have him on a leash every time he goes out now.  Coyotes seem to come out at all times of the day.  We have been lucky in that they come at night or early in the a.m.  I have to observe everything while I am out, but I have become used to it here.

Walking up the hill, I needed to check the fruit trees.  The apple tree is giving another good bunch.  This will be the third year.  The past two years I waited one whole day too long; yup one whole day.  The deer came down and ate them all overnight.  Looking forward to making an apple pie this year, but who knows if that will happen.  *third time’s a charm eh*  The plums are finally blossoming too.  Those I did have last year and again, looking forward to picking and eating them.

 

 

Seeds from the Winter are still hanging out.  Crunching under my feet as I walk the paths.  More raking on the list of to-dos.  I save them for decorations throughout the year.

…and the flowers are blooming for picking and smelling. I am not too fond of Gazanias, but they seem to fit just right here with the clay soil. It is very hard to grow plants that don’t die out early or get eaten by deer and other animals.

 

The view from the top of the hill from another part of the property was nice to see after some months of brush clearance.  We have a lot to go, but the more view the better.

After downloading pics I had fun editing the one below.  These were taken all on Cellzilla.  The manual mode takes a bit longer, but I can either edit or not by using the camera in manual mode.  I have learned it doesn’t take that long.

Then there is always the end of the Tea Walk.
