~Tis The Season~

Tis the season to decorate, of course eat and then make merriment. It is a bit different this year in Sheckyville, but we have gotten used to COVID restrictions and all we want now is to stay healthy and get rid of that nasty, deathly virus worldwide. We are doing our part and it is life’s reality so we are not fighting it, hence the merriment in numbers is not happening but indeed we make the season fun with festive decor and lots of food.
In order to brighten this year up, decorations were pulled out and put up early. It is the first holiday that the house is actually finished from construction, so that pushed me a bit more to decorate. Bringing the ornaments out early made way for baking time and just enjoying the the rest of the season in a more relaxed way. Next few months we are planning another project on the property so this will now be just enjoying as is until the next phase.

Every year at this time is different with the collections. Nutcrackers, Snowmen, Santas, and ornaments seem to have filled the spaces more as time goes on and with that, new spaces are made for the growth.
The mask stands on its own for my big guy in the Foyer, and my new Nutcracker for BLM and first responders takes the front row in my living room. Every year I buy something new so I saw this lady and loved her.
I have a constant sweet tooth as my recipes show here on Mrs. Shecky, and fudge is not made any other time of the year but now. This year I crunched peppermint candies and tossed them on top.

For the recipe, click on the photo of the fudge or the recipes tab above. It is a so simple recipe, and tasty with just 3 ingredients.
Trees. After a few fires here in Sheckyville, I will never have a real tree again. They are expensive, cumbersome to get rid of, and if left alone with lights on, may cause a fire. Not for me anymore. So I have collected a few small faux ones for inside. Just take them out of the box and put them up then take them down for next year. It is really not all that hard and you can get a no connect tree as my corner Ornament Tree is with not one plug in to do other than plug it in the wall. All lit up it was a piece of cake… or should I say piece of fudge.

I remember in the days past I would gather up pine cones and decorate with them all over the place. I still do. I gather them up and put them in my wooden dough bowls. It is a reminder that nature tells the tale and will always remind me of the days when the earth decorated my holidays.

Whatever you decorate with… or not, I wish you all Happy Holidays and a Happy Season of hope, change for the good, and of course love.

Happy Holidays to you too!
Now, that is a seriously festive house! I like putting out decorations but not the re-wrapping and boxing them up later! Merry Christmas to all Sheckyville ๐
Yes, putting them away is not always fun at first, but I just put some music on and before I know it is all done. โ๏ธ

Thank you. Many years of collecting. Many smiles too.
Wow, you have a beautiful collection of Christmas decorations! Amazing. I think your choice to not have an actual, real tree going forward is a great choice. I wish you and yours a blessed Christmas! โค๏ธ๐๐ป๐
