~Work Comforts~

Every room has a comfort zone here at Sheckyville. It has been a standard since I had my first apartment to have a spot or two to just flop in.

Furniture makes that happen and normally a corner of the room will nook it up a few notches for that comfortable feeling. Putting out special memory items are another thing to make it homey. I use everything given to me and I do display just so that they can be seen for memory sake.

A comfy chair for the library. This is just a high back chair with an ottoman under the desk to put my feet up. It is super comfortable and is at the perfect height. It seems to work great with the antique desk.

There are a couple of places to pull up a seat in here to either relax, watch TV, read or work. It has been changed a few times since the house was finished. Knowing who I am, felt pads were put on the bottom of the furniture here. It is easier to scoot and move heavy furniture to change things at my whim with them on. *I am crazy that way… don’t judge, eh* Those felt pads can be found at any home store or for that matter, I have seen them in grocery stores too.

A fluffy chair to watch television and relax

Throws and pillows are a must have here this time of year. I don’t always have the heater on and don’t like it too much, so having a comforter at hand is nice for the chillies. Most of the decor is utilitarian for the seasons. They are taken out of the cupboards and then changed out per season.

This is the talk center.
I like to listen to the radio here and talk on the telephone. It is a reminder from the past with a phone like this. I couldn’t find a rotary dial so the buttons had to do.

Telephone, radio, and other little talk-a-do’s, are right here. It is the spot for fire and evac information.

The library has been checked off the list of “to do’s” finally. Done, and it feels good to be home at last.
