~The Kitchen Scale ~
In future posts I will be posting my kitchen must haves under the Tab “Essentials” above. Kitchen tools sure make cooking and baking easier, and for myself it can make the world of difference in the outcome. So I am posting tools that I have in Mrs. Shecky’s Kitchen and do actually use because I can mess things up really bad if I don’t do things right.
This essential is for measuring. Maybe not all measuring, but close to all and I won’t be without it.
Kitchen Essentials #1
If you don’t have one, get one. From cookies to meatballs to measuring out dry ingredients and homemade lotions and candles the kitchen scale has come in so handy that it is used almost daily. It wasn’t until I watched the Great British Baking Show that Mrs. Shecky’s Kitchen was adorned with one so those Mary Berry cakes could be devoured by me instead of watching it go down on TV. It makes the world of difference in accurate measuring for an even cook or bake.

A must have on the scale is the “Tare” button. I use it all the time.
How it works: Power on, weigh the container, hit Tare to clear the weight of the container and wait until it zeros out, then weigh out the ingredients. It is that easy. I even weigh wax paper and Tare. If you have never tried this feature, do not be afraid.
They can be relatively inexpensive if you want to try first. This one was bought at one of the larger home stores for about $25. Not bad at all and I have had it for a good year now and still works just as great as the first day bought. It is light, thin, and easily cleaned.
So there you go. The Kitchen Scale on the first of Mrs. Shecky’s Essentials for the kitchen.
Til next time.
Thanks for stopping in to Mrs. Shecky’s Kitchen
Having a scale and using that Tare option makes life so much easier! Your blog layout is beautiful by the way!! I want it!
Indeed, and thank you!
A definite must have for your kitchen. Great post full of useful information. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
Thank you, stay healthy and safe to you too 🙂
I agree! Super must-have. Our kitchen improved by miles once we introduced the scale.
Yes, and it is such an easy tool!
so useful! every time I ask my mum for recipes, her quantities are “how much you think it needs”, “stop adding it when it looks right”, “you will see yourself how much you need” ahaha!
Yes! Most of my handed down recipes are the same. A pinch of this and a pinch of that, and I wish I had the portions.
A clever gadget! I thought it was a speaker when I saw the preview pic haha
Haha! I will put that on one of my posts, because I need music when I am in the kitchen 🙂
