Today I thought I would get up and make a recipe to post. I haven’t posted a recipe in awhile. The garden prep for Summer, shed reno, and generator are among other things that have been priority on the list before it gets too hot to be outside. But, today, I was really going to bake and it didn’t happen. Why? It is a beautiful day here and I got just plain lazy.

Rave came to visit last night. Then he came today again. He’s at the bar doors wondering what’s up. He hung out for a bit and then left again. Maybe we will see him tonight. He’s becoming a regular at the bar doors. I left him some pub grub to peck on.

Mr. Murray was lazy too. While I was changing the cushions and seating around to sit, he just took up a spot in the doorway instead of following me around. He likes to do that now in his older age. Just enough door opening, and he thinks he is outside.

Since I was just meandering and tooling around, Cellzilla was the camera available to snap photos with. The bird isn’t in focus, but I got to sit and just watch them come and go after deciding not to do a darn thing. Nests are bursting with life right now and the birds and the bees love the water in the fountains and the little bird baths.

The blue sky was beautiful and the garden looks nice and green right now. Later, in a couple of months, it will be horribly hot and the pretty will be gone.

But I guess the best was when I decided to drink the very last root beer. Today was the perfect day for a root beer float made with my homemade vanilla bean ice cream. It was great having no one around to watch me gulp it down. I don’t have soda but a couple times a year and today was perfect to indulge and now brag about it.

Ending up in a chair with Mr. Murray turned out to be the highlight and being on the Pacific Coast, there are still a few more daylight hours to enjoy. So…
