~Into The Blue Pg. 3~

~Into The Blue Pg. 3~

Here is my latest page and a little bit how it was made in my new altered book Into The Blue.

I have been asked what does it mean, what is the purpose and simply put it is one of the things I like to do as a creative outlet/hobby/craft/art. And, I will add, I am not alone. So this is for the paper crafters and the things we share and do and any one else who has fun indulging in altered booking.

What does it mean? I think about it as an interpretative of the crafted work. I know what I think about it, but what are your thoughts on the work? That is what gets me going. For myself, it is like looking at a cloud and seeing something and the person next to me is seeing something different. I like that. Then there is “I just don’t like that stuff”, and I am ok with that too 🙂

Into The Blue forces me to stay in the ocean, sea, or water aspect of Life. That is very hard for me to do since I am all over the place when I do this type of craft. Getting three pages in means I am really in. Not so quickly though, as the house is still in transition and I am hiking to my craft room. But page 3 marks an onward flow *happy*.

After prepping the page, I water-colored fairly lightly and when it started looking like undersea plants-coral and such, I let it dry to thunk the thoughts on the rest of it…

I don’t have ocean themed graphics so I went to the printable department of my stash from The Graphics Fairy. I am a member and they have plenty. A circle was cut to simply add a mermaid graphic from behind the wheel.

It wasn’t enough.
The looking glass needed a looking glass door and away I went with it. The cut out circle came in handy for this.

The little girl with a shell on her ear had me when I saw her so I used her along with a frame that had the words “Ship Broker” on it and voila… it all went into place.

Here is the final piece. – *right, that’s was all crafters say hee hee* –

The door is open now for her to wonder. The more you wonder, the more you can do things dreamed- just ask the shell.,.

Thanks for stopping in.

I hope you enjoyed this show and tell.

  2. Oh, my Mrs. Shecky! I was transported into a bit of wondering myself. I absolutely love the creation: it is beautiful and charming and a wee bit cheeky with magic. The story was a good read and I am sitting here smiling.
