~Loofah Seeds~

~Loofah Seeds~

I had completely forgotten I had thrown Loofah seeds out a few years ago into the hillside. Is this a result of that throw? I think it is considering there is not another reason why this would be in the garden up on the hill. What a nice surprise!

I finally wandered to the She’d Shed to garden for the Winter turnover. The weather is much cooler and the long Summer heat has kept me from going up there at all. It is a mess. A pull-out-party was in order and then a couple of these little wonders happened to show up. I am surprised to say the least.

Gardens are a nice surprise aren’t they?! Frequently, I will throw seeds on a hill or into a spot to see what happens. Just left-over random seeds I have had. Infrequently the results actually show up. I am happy this did. I think I will put this with my nests and feathers. I am not sure how it will do with soap and such. However, I may try using one if I do find another. Does anyone have any experience with growing these? I was lucky in this instance, but I may like to venture in growing more.

I do love a good-happy garden surprise. It just makes the gardening much more interesting. *Smiling*

Happy Gardening To You.

Til next time from Sheckyville.

    1. I am not sure… it was a seed packet that I had and just threw about the back yard by my shed. I was surprised to see it worked!

      1. Did it turn into a tree or long vine with long gourds

        1. Sorry for the late reply… It was a vine. I didn’t even know it was there until I saw the Loofah. I never checked on the seeds and completely forgot about them. So I was definitely surprised and happy to see them. They were already on the ground so I imagine it was there for awhile. It did not bear many. I am assuming that was weather related and me not paying attention to the seeds.

  2. Inspiring. I want to try it. What kind of lighting does it need? Seems cool for mark making techniques.

    1. The seeds needs to be in at least partial sunlight. Yes, the loofah can be used for wonderful for projects. They take some time however to grow… At least on my yard. You can go to the store and buy a natural Loofah and use it in the meantime. 😁

    1. They are good for exfoliation. They soften the more they used and can get moldy over time if not dried. But they are good.
