So here we are in fire season and we have our first tropical storm due in. What the hey who! We haven’t had one of those yet… go figure we get our first. At this point, we are not evacuating under voluntary evacs in our area. Not one tree is swaying but the clouds are humid and still hanging around. However, we are prepped and ready. Tonight will be the beginning for about 24 hours-ish. There really isn’t much to do anymore except for some sandbags. We have prepped for these occasions and are happy we have kept it up. Hopefully we won’t have too much damage *$$$* and if needed, the generator goes on.
This one is supposed to bring a lot of rain and wind. All we did was turn furniture down as the garage is full of the cars ready to go. We really couldn’t put it anywhere expect under the porches. It makes me laugh to see the wicker turned over like that. Like it will stay there…

The chain saw is ready in case of fallen trees and the sandbags are in. We have stations with sandbags to pick up. First come first serve, so I was out early today. Now… it is time to wait.

Rave left me one of his feathers at my study door. He looks like a blue turkey these days. His long beautiful feathers are gone and I have saved them for the vase in the kitchen. He has taken refuge under the porch. I wonder if they sense nature’s whirls. He lost his buddy during the windy fires and I hope he is protected from PTSD. I just love that guy. He runs to me to get his food now.
The Shecky Shack has taken some brunt with the hail and electrical storms all last night. We have people there and they are taking great care with everything. It has been pounded since last night and I will hear news in the morning if we survived another night.
So, with that, those of you in So. Cal. take care and be safe. We are hunkering down and hoping for the best. I probably won’t have internet so I will get back when possible. Its just one of those things. This will be a good test for Starlink. We got rid of ATT as it was useless here and a waste of $$. Hughes was no better. So far, so good with Starlink, so we are hopeful…
