~After The Storm~

~After The Storm~

Sheckyville fared pretty well during Hilary’s gusts, except for a huge cleanup. She had her fun here but we are ok. The winds and rain were scaled down but boy did it still hit hard.

It seems the rabbits came out and had a field day during the storm too. I think they liked the rain and the fact no one was around to scare them. Yard checks were done once the rain started just to make sure everything was good. I snapped this pic with the cell phone of Rabbit having a picnic during one walk around.

Places to sit were soaking wet but did not look so inviting during the event. I do like the rain, but this storm was a bit strange to go through and there was no time to sit or even relax.

Moss got a good gulp of water and the green was really pretty so I stopped to take this photo. Come Winter I will forage for my potted plants.

Then there is this guy. The photo was taken today through my sunny study window. Seems he has pulled up a seat and is back to normal. His long feathers have fallen off for new growth but he still is beautiful. Have I said I just love him? Well, I just love him.

I am glad this tropical storm is gone. That was really something else to prep for. We are used to prepping here but this was a tad much. I could live without them. The wind and rain alone here are enough. Mother Nature is a bit angry.

Til next time…

    1. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I have been doing storm damage repairs the last few days at the Shecky Shack. We did well compared to a lot out there. With the heat the areas are still flooded. Here at Sheckyville the wind took 2 trees but luckily we were okay. Did well in fact. Thank you for asking 🙂

  2. Glad everything is relatively back to normal. We have the thick smoke from forrest fires up this way. Could use a bit of the shwers you got. Stay safe. Like the photos.

    1. The North is really getting hit again with fires. The smoke is the worst. I hope it settles soon before the windy season comes. Crossing my fingers for you! 🙂

  5. So glad you and the peacock are good! I was in NC in 1996 when Hurricane Fran struck Raleigh, a rare inland storm. It was pretty terrifying, so I get it!
